Fire Prevention Week is October 8th through 14th. This year’s theme is “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out”. We will be having a poster contest for our children at the Silver Run Community Room on October 9, 2017 at 11AM. Kids who attend the poster contest will receive lunch and a chance to receive a prize. This contest is sponsored by our insurance company, HAI.
Our Annual Senior Health and Wellness day for Penns Towers Seniors will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 12PM to 2PM. We will have free blood pressure, sugar testing and cholesterol screenings as well as information on vaccines. In addition, the Salem County Sheriff’s Department will be helping our seniors to receive senior identification cards.
We had our Silver Run Summer BBQ on August 25, 2017 to honor our kids who made the honor roll and/or had perfect attendance. An IPAD was raffled off to those children who excelled during the 2016-2017 school year. 7 year old, Abigal Ayars won the IPAD. We are proud of all of the children who accomplished honor roll and perfect attendance.
Our sister non profit organization, is hosting an Atlantic City Bus trip on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 to Resort Casino leaving at 8:30 and returning at 5:30 PM. The cost of the bus is $25.00. All Silver Run tenants are in invited to attend our annual Silver Run Community Day on Monday, April 17, 2017 at noon. The event will focus on the importance of education. There will be food, music, and activities.
Our sister non-profit organization, Community Outreach Unlimited will be hosting our first Salem County Culture Day on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM. There will be a DJ, dancing, food, performing arts and much more! The event will take place at Silver Run Community Center, 300 Gillette Avenue, Penns Grove, NJ 08069. Salem Country Culture Day is FREE and open to the public. Community Outreach Unlimited was awarded a grant from the Family Enrichment Network to pay for this event.
